3rd Longest Running Meet in Mid-Atlantic-41 years

At the College of William and Mary

   

Jennifer Showker and Steve Huntzinger after the first day of throws at the Colonial Relays. Huntzinger was chosen "High School Athlete" of the meet after breaking the meet record in the shot put with a 62 ft. throw. He also won discus with a throw of 177 ft.

 

Both throwers will be throwing for William and Mary next season.

Some 2000 athletes including high schoolers from 6 states and 24 Colleges and Universitys competed in Williamsburg Friday and Saturday along side at The 41st running of the Colonial Relays at The College of William and Mary.

 
Spotswood High School's Jennifer Showker placed first in the Girls Shot put with a throw of 37'10" and second in the Girls Discus with a throw of 123'3" Brienne Karow of Ellenville NY won the discus with a throw of 135'4".
 
Former Spotswood Vaulter J.B. Rosson tied for second place in the Vault clearing 15'7" Rosson has red-shirted at VMI this spring as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
