Dogwood Track Classic

April 26, 2003

1900 athletes from 91 schools competed in the strongest field in the history of the meet.

Spotswood and Fort Defiance were the lone Valley teams in the field. Even though the competition was very stiff, Valley performers used the strong field to better their scores and move up in the Area's Best rankings. Spotswood Boys relays and Girls throwers were dog tired after competing just 15 hours earlier in the City County meet. That didn't hold them back from getting solid performances and placing in the meet.

Fort Defiance's Michael Kondor placed 8th in the Vault. Spotswood Jennifer Showker placed 2nd in the Discus and 4th in the Shot. Spotswood's Amber Showalter placed 8th place in the Discus (after competing at the CC, then going to the STATE AAU Girls Basketball tourney, playing in that game later...one tough girl!).

The Blazer 4x800 Boys relay team shattered the school record by 4 seconds and improved their AA STATE top ranking with an 8:07.38
