A moment in time...

One high school career coming to end and another just getting started.

Fort Defiance hurdlers raced well all the way back to the indoor season.

Holding a broken discus, the meet director mused... "Why not this one?"...USATF certified implements inspectors made sure the meet was conducted with properly certified equipment.

Seth and Bev Good (USATF Master Official) were two meet officials that Virginia can count on to administer a fair and even competition.

Bev Good is an asset to Virginia Track and Field and can be seen at many elite track venues in the mid-Atlantic states.

Back next year?

Zig was fun to be around for everyone...best of luck in Football and Track

at Concord next year!

This track manager was a loyal worker all year (right Farren?)...but her

little friend probably would've spent the day somewhere else.

The Blue Streaks have much to be proud of.

Hard work and reptition pay off in the relays.

The story at the discus circle was a very slick circle due to construction

dirt from JMU.

Discus throwers who relied on spin (vs power snappers) had a rough day. Some throwers put water on their shoes to attempt to get some grip.

Sophmore Jennifer will be back for another season.

In the final pictures of the season, we wish these athletes, coaches, and track patrons the best of luck...you've had great seasons!

"What a long strange trip it's been" Starting back in December for many of us indoors, this year went by in a flash. When you're having fun, time flys. The athletes, coaches, parents, families and patrons of the Valley District have much to be proud of.

Fast Track Finish Lynx FAT head Jules Lucas does THE top track and field meets all over America. His comment to meet management late Saturday evening as things calmed down was that...
"This meet is one of if not THE best high school meets we do in the entire country!"
We are blessed and very fortunate to have Virginia's finest-THE WHOLE PACKAGE, here in the valley.
We'll see you next year for another exciting season of Track and Field.
