Spotswood Tri-meet with Broadway and Harrisonburg

The tri-meets finish the regular season as Broadway, Harrisonburg meet at THE WOOD. It's a great day for running, vaulting and throwing. Broadway girls make a huge statement on a possible run for the District title with big performances by their leaders in jumps and middle distance. They appear to be peaking at just the right time. For the Gobbler boys and Chad Harpine... BAM, he takes it up another notch in the vault, wins the relay, the long jump, and leaves the field tired but satisfied. Senior Blazer David Tlaxcala becomes the 4th all-time Blazer to break the 50ft. Shot Put barrier. Around the district athletes are taking it to the next notch like R.E. Lee's girl thrower-Christen Crawford with a huge throw of 38'11"...approaching 40 feet in time for the District meet. Teammate Ronnie Purnell is now with hundreths of seconds to Harvey in the sprints...oh my!

It's time for the last chance meets then SHOW TIME... the Valley District Championships on May 20th at TA.
