New Record Holders:

Kristen Crawford & Amber Showalter

Exciting action in Bridgewater

as TA dominates both competitions and records fall in the throws.

Stormy weather postponed the Friday evening District Meet to Saturday. But NOTHING compared to the lightning that hit the ground in the throwing sectors as 16 year old girls records got toasted.

41' 4.5" and 131'10" erased Harrisonburg's Amy Washington's 1989 hold on the girls district marks. Crawford and Showalter move to #2 rankings in Virginia and set the showdown in Region II next Thursday.

And now a special message for all the AAU basketball, soccer and other youth coaches who tell their players NOT to play other sports...

...to concentrate on ONLY one sport year round when they are barely teenagers...

"HELLO... you are messing it up big time for these young athletes.

Multiple sports for young athletes simply make them better in their primary sport."

"Parents... get your sons and daughters in more than one sport... while there is still time!"

This public service message brought to you on behalf of five of the Valley's FINEST Basketball players, All District, All-Region, Scholarship and

State Champion Girls Hoopsters who bring it in MORE than one sport and finished ALL-District throwers today!
