results The 31st Annual City-County Track meet
was the shortest ever. A lightning squal moved through the
area and caused a meet delay. Meet officials (at the advice
of EOC in Harrisonburg) finally called the meet after almost
an hour wait. Online Radar showed the storm moving through,
but there was no access to that data at the field.
A nice sunny evening was given back to
the all the hard working athletes and meet officials. There
are no plans to make up the meet due to no room in the
schedule. Turner Ashby's 4x800 Relay team
crushed the meet record with a time of 8:16.20. That
team of Mark Cohee, Michael Snader, Will Shoemaker
and Matt Miller will be state contenders in June.
10:09.40 was good enough also for a

In Memory Bill Blose It's appropriate that Bill's pictures above were both at rainy meets. This city-county meet was similar to past years. |

Bill loved track and field. He loved watching the athletes compete no matter what school they were from. He was a fierce competitor himself and enjoyed the "thrill of the battle." We dedicate this City-County Meet Friday May 7th to your memory with great love and appreciation for your help and support. We will miss you at the finish line, Bill. |
