SVTC Letter from the president of the Shenandoah Valley Track Club From: Rich Ruozzi (ValleySting@aol.com) Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2011 11:45 AM It's time to renew your SVTC membership. The Membership Application is on our web site valleytrack.org. I was asked, "What do I get by being a member?" When you join SVTC you also get a membership in Road unners Of America RRCA.org. A national organization for running. You get up to date information on local track meets and some discounts on races. If you participate in all the meets your discounts come to $31, this is more than the membership fees. Sometimes I think," What if there was not a Shenandoah Valley Track Club? Well, you would not be reading this email because the user group would not have been created. There would be no summer or indoor track meets. There would be no Turkey Run or Mt. Valley 10 miler. The club is directly or indirectly involved in 90% of all local races. Many would not happen without the club. There would be no group runs or scholarships for High School runners. We are a source of information for new people moving to the area or new runners wanting to get involved. We help create a friendly environment for runners. If you have ever lived where there wasn't a running club you know how lucky were are to have the Shenandoah Valley Track Club. For Further Involvement: At our last meeting we accepted the resignation of our vice president Butch Proctor. Butch has run in more local races than any other runner I know. We will miss his experience and insight. We are looking for someone to step up and get involved. We also discussed adding a new position on the board. We have only have four meeting a year. If you would like to be involved or have any question call 540-833-4415 or directly email me. Rich Ruozzi Shenandoah Valley Track Club 540-833-4415 8873 Frank Lane Road Singers Glen, VA 22850
